At the end of 2001, the Czech government allotted money for non-governmental organizations to help the developing nations of Africa. People in Need decided to take action in Namibia, which is one of Africa’s most developed countries but has the largest HIV/AIDS infected population.
After analysing the country’s situation, the biggest problems facing this country were poverty and unemployment, which stem from the high rate of HIV/AIDS infections. Citizens who have been infected with the disease but were not in the worst state of the illness believed their problems come from not having enough work, which translates into having no income, rather than the disease itself.
